I remember reading in one of my automotive rags (Car and Driver, Motor Trend, etc.) that thanks to a labor contract signed a few years ago, Audi pays its unionized Mexican workers just a few dollars per hour. I am not kidding.

Detroit as a labor market gone a long time ago. No more new factories going to Detroit ever. Engine made in Japan, transmission in Germany, dash in South Korea, the rest of the parts in the USA, assembled in Mex.
