State agencies' mail for a previous resident, moved out 3 years ago, keeps arriving. Landlord doesn't recognize the name. After a year-plus of writing "MOVED - NO FORWARDING ADDRESS", I concluded that he post office isn't returning the mail and/or the state isn't processing the change. My new policy: open / read / shred.

One was a driver license suspension about a major speeding violation that's never been paid. Male, early 20s.

Then yesterday - post office mail, fat envelope, no postage meter amount just a printed First Class and permit number. It must have cost at least $1 including four sheets of paper and envelope. Same return address that's been shown up regularly, every month or two. And it's in regard to thirty-one cents:

"According to our records, you have not used your EBT...SNAP in over 229 days. After 274 days of inactivity, the State will expunge any benefits that have not been used. ... Currently, $0.31 is scheduled to be expunged on 08/zz/2025... Using your EBT card for any amount prior to 08/yy/2025 will stop (agency) from removing your SNAP benefits."

The fourth of those pages had 15 different languages' versions of "if you need help in translating this" contact information. Burmese, Gujarati, Nepali, and more. In alphabetical order. Press 1 for Spanish but on this printed thing it's fourteenth, bottom of the back side, just above Vietnamese.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — A black man who was shown on video being punched and dragged from his car by Florida deputies during a traffic stop will speak to the public on Wednesday.

William McNeil Jr., along with his family and attorneys("uncle ben" crump)is set to host a news conference at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Church of Jacksonville.

Footage of the 22-year-old man’s arrest has sparked nationwide outrage(GRA:?) with civil rights lawyers accusing authorities of fabricating their arrest report. The video shows McNeil was sitting in the driver’s seat, asking to speak to the Jacksonville deputies’ supervisor, when authorities broke his window, punched him in the face, pulled him from the vehicle, punched him again, and threw him to the ground.

But Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters says there’s more to the story than the cellphone video that went viral. He warned the public about “a rush to judgment” that could lead to faulty conclusions. McNeil’s lawyers say the video clearly depicts police brutality.


Body camera footage of the encounter shows McNeil had been repeatedly told to exit the vehicle. And, though McNeil earlier had his car door open while talking with authorities, he later closed and appeared to keep it locked for about three minutes before deputies forcibly removed him, the video shows. The vantage point of the body camera footage that was released makes it difficult to see the punches that were thrown.
