“Self-defense is a God-given right, not a crime,” Paxton told Fox News on Saturday. “Unfortunately, the Soros-backed DA in Travis County cares more about the radical agenda of dangerous Antifa and BLM mobs than justice.”

Paxton has his issues, but he is pugnacious.

He will go after the “wise latino” travis county district attorney.

These woke lawyers will try to shove their agenda down the throats of regular Whites--and dare us to stop them.

Basically, that's where we are at--at the moment.

Did he closely follow the case? Is he familiar with the evidence presented at the trial?

Presumably self-defense was the basis of Perry's strategy at the trial, but a jury still convicted him. Which considering the political/judicial climate today may not mean much (see the Arbery case). Still it would be interesting to know details of what happened during the trial.

A detective who investigated what happened and was friendly to Perry and his claim of self-defense has already submitted a sworn affidavit that the local DA's office pressured him to leave out info favorable to Perry:

What can or will he do?

It seems Abbott cannot pardon Perry until/unless he gets a recommendation from a state agency/board.

Here is the Twitter acct of a reporter who apparently covered the trial, filtered for the words 'Perry Foster Fugitt' -- Perry is the defendant, Foster the victim, Fugitt the detective. It gives some idea of the flow of the trial, including the evidence.

A few interesting tweets from the reporter:

"Facebook post by slain Austin protester Garrett Foster 14 days before he died said he would be holding his AK-47. . "Come on down to Austin if you feel like using your vehicle for a weapon," the post said."

Looks like the prosecution case finished on April 3.

Did Perry say that?

https://twitter.com/cosbo4/status/1644030529266765824
"Prosecutor: Daniel Perry told police that he thought Garrett Foster was a police officer so Perry rolled down his window. "Why would you roll down your window and shoot a police officer?,' said prosecutor Guillermo Gonzalez."

Bizarre: prosecution witness completely misremembers the color of Perry's car. Otherwise a very reliable witness of course.

https://twitter.com/cosbo4/status/1640838076711706627
"Witness Michael Rose said he remembers Daniel Perry's car as white. t Perry was driving a dark-colored car, officials have said."

One gets the impression a typical BLM protester, many called as witnesses, is not very intelligent and has low impulse control.

Just scrolling down the timeline of

gives an idea of how the trial went, including things witnesses said.

It looks like the judge excluded some of Perry's social media activity: he did not allow it to be presented to the jury. This was at least in part favorable to Perry. But now that excluded material may or will be used during sentencing.

I don't know what happened the night of the shooting. But Perry does not come off as an entirely sympathetic character. Among other reasons, he seems dumb.

DA Garza rebukes Abbott's efforts to pardon Daniel Perry after murder conviction

"He also said prosecutors will work with state District Judge Clifford Brown as early as Monday morning to set a sentencing date for Daniel Perry, who was convicted of murder by a unanimous jury verdict in Foster's death. Garza said Brown "will be able to consider and evaluate additional evidence before sentencing Mr. Perry for the crime he committed.

Garza did not elaborate. However, Brown is likely to consider a trove of anti-protester social media posts made during nationwide social justice demonstrations in the aftermath of George Floyd's murder and private messages, only some of which Brown allowed jurors to hear. Messages that jurors considered include one in which Perry told a friend on social media that in May 2020 he might go to Dallas to "shoot looters." He then texted that friend that he was at a protest in Dallas in June 2020 and he was "packing heat."

Families of victims also are often allowed to make statements to the court before a judge imposes a sentence."

The above article is by another Austin reporter who covered the case:

But he appears to be a literal faggot, and his Twitter timeline seems to be, on the whole, biased toward the prosecution.

Some may have heard the expression 'A woman is either married to a man, or to the state', meaning single women generally vote for liberals and in favor of increasing government power. From what I have seen the same is true of homosexuals and other sexual deviants: they seek protection in state power, and the state definitely sees them as part of its electoral power base.

That is what the cops want you to do. So they can properly communicate with you and ID you.
