“American director William Friedkin interviewed Austrian director Fritz Lang on February 21st and 24th, 1975. Lang died August 2nd, 1976.”
N.S.: Fritz Lang was half a man in this country, without his Nazi second wife, Thea von Harbou. She wrote the screenplays for all of his German pictures—Dr. Mabuse, Dr. Mabuse, Part II (both in 1922), Metropolis (1927), M (1931), etc. von Harbou was the greatest female and the grteatest German-language screenwriter ever. Nobody else even comes close. But because she was a Nazi, people typically ignore her.

I'm a big fan of Friedkin's. Sorcerer and Cruising are criminally underrated.
