(fox2-DETROIT) A man accused of pouring gasoline on his pregnant girlfriend and lighting her on fire has posted bond in Detroit, Michigan.

Devonne Marsh posted a $5,000 bond and walked out of jail in Wayne County, Michigan on Friday after being arrested two days earlier for allegedly lighting his girlfriend, who is 6 and a half months pregnant with twins, on fire and burning over 60% of her body, according to fox 2 Detroit.

Marsh, 41, was released on bond with several conditions including being prohibited from doing drugs or going back to the scene of the crime. While he has been released from jail in Wayne County, Fox 2 Detroit reports that Marsh has a hold for charges in another county meaning he is not free to walk the streets at this time.

Marsh’s bond was set at $50,000, meaning he only had to post 10% to be released.

Marsh’s girlfriend, 26, remains hospitalized in critical condition, and it is unclear whether the babies will survive. She was reportedly too afraid to come forward and report the crime but a tip led authorities to the scene and she is currently cooperating with the investigation.

GRA: I had read that new charges would be filed to prevent this from happening. Obviously—not.

Devonne Marsh is accused of dousing his girlfriend, who was pregnant with twins, with lighter fluid and then setting the woman on fire inside their home on Jan. 14. When he was arrested, he was ordered held on a $50,000 bond with 10%. That means he was able to get bailed out of jail for the assault with intent charges for as low a $5,000.

Last week, he was released from the Wayne County Jail but never left custody because Macomb County picked him up for an unrelated

On Monday, he appeared in Wayne County court virtually while still being held in the Macomb County Jail as the charges had been reissued and he was ordered held on a $750,000 bond, no 10%.

Devonne Marsh recharged, held on higher bond on accusations he set his pregnant girlfriend on fire
A Detroit man is now being held on a $750,000 bond after being re-charged with dousing his girlfriend with lighter fluid and setting her on fire.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office argued for a $1 million bond, citing Marsh's criminal history.

His defense, however, argued that bond was only being raised because of the attention given to the case, based on the original $50,000 bond, and asked for a 10% option for her client. She said that the prosecutor's office dismissed the original charges when the low bond was publicized and that it was ‘prejudicial’ for the prosecutor's office to change the charges.

The judge, however, didn't agree with the defense and ordered Marsh held on a $750,000 bond.

He's due back in court on Feb. 1.

GRA:"Prejudicial."

It would be prejudicial against all of us who oppose rampant black crime,to release him--or anyone like Devonne Marsh to be back on the street.
