Detroit: Shooter from Gang of Three Robbing Gas Station Murders Boy, 14, for Running Away

By Nicholas Stix

“The three young men in this photo distributed by Detroit Police are wanted for questioning regarding the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy on Sept. 19, 2012. / Detroit Police Department”

When I read this story to The Boss, she figured that the victim wasn’t named because at press time, the police hadn’t yet been able to notify his next of kin.

In case anyone is tempted to blame the kid for running, he had no guarantee that the robbers were going to let the witnesses live. And since most black robbers are terrible shots who typically only kill innocent bystanders, he may have figured that his odds of getting away were good.
