"queens laundromat worker critical afer shot in the head during dispute"
Anthony Carlo has the details from Springfield gardens.
"springfield gardens, queens (wabc
) -- a man was killed after being shot in the head during a dispute inside [sic] a queens laundromat.
"it happened just after 8:30 saturday morning. police were called to the scene for an assault in progress at wash and fold super laundry on north conduit avenue in Springfield Gardens. When they arrived, they found a 31-year-old Dominick Lowery [almost certainly black], who was shot in the head.
"police say some sort of dispute started inside the laundromat and then spilled outside where the shooting happened.
"a witness described hearing one loud pop. those who knew Lowery say he has been working the overnight shift at the laundromat for about three years. his mother is also an employee of the laundromat and was there when her son was shot.
"several bystanders and those who work in the strip mall stepped in to try to help before first responders arrived.
"'my teammates called 911 and they wanted to go ahead and perform cpr on him but they did not because another individual or Good Samaritan was already doing so. so they stayed away,' one witness said. 'some of my teammates are nursing students so they were going to step up and do what they have trained to do.
"Lowery was taken to Jamaica hospital in critical condition. he was later pronounced dead.
"the employee has worked overnight shifts at the laundromat for three years. he's described by co-workers as a hard-working, decent man - now the victim of a shockingly callous act.
"a focal point of the police investigation now is whether the victim and shooter knew each other and what exactly that dispute was about."
N.S.: Grammatically, that's two items, not one. But there's only one: Whether the shooter knew the vic. What the dispute was about was a non-issue; there was no "dispute." Cops always make that up, after the fact. Perp A assaults Vic A; thus, there was a "dispute." No; there was an assault. black criminals don't need a "dispute," in order to assault and batter, or murder anyone.

Right, the "dispute" is...the vic sees the perp pull out a gun and starts yelling,"Don't shoot my a**,bro."
To wit,the perp replies:
"Oh yeah, you gonna get plugged,nigga--you know why--I saw you."
Followed by the vic's last words:
"That wasn't me,mannnn."
