I don't know enough about Busfield. I never heard rumors and his fervent denials mean little. Wait for the trial.

I never watched the show, though I taped a lot of tv programs back then (I worked the all-nighter).

Moonlighting, Cheers, Carson, Letterman. On the ol' VCR [chuckle].

I can't find anything online suggesting Busfield is gay, he's been married to women three times, and appears to be hetero. Of course, that doesn't mean he couldn't be secretly into little boys but on the surface it doesn't seem likely. However, he does admit to have tickled the boys, explaining that the set was playful. The boys would have been around the ages of 7-8 years old at the time, and I would consider any kind of physical contact like that to be inappropriate, so it does sound kind of weird to me. He also suggested that the boys' mother vowed revenge on him for not bringing the boys back for the final season of the show. Who knows the truth of that, but some women are quite capable of coaching their kids into false claims of sex abuse. Woody Allen learned that when he pissed off Mia Farrow.
