More nEGRO sports insanity: phoenix suns—a lousy team in a lousy league—gives a mediocre player $72 million a year for two years
“(kls.com) phoenix — the phoenix suns have signed star guard Devin Booker to a two-year, $145 million maximum contract extension through the 2029-30 season, two people with direct knowledge of the deal told the associated press.
“the people spoke wednesday on condition of anonymity because the deal has not been announced.
“the 28-year-old Booker has been one of the nba’s best shooting guards, earning four all-star appearances in 10 nba seasons. the two-time all-nba player has averaged 24.4 points since phoenix took him out of kentucky with the 13th overall pick in the 2015 draft.
“Booker averaged 25.6 points, 7.1 assists and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 46% from the floor during a disappointing 2024-25 season for the suns.
“phoenix failed to make the playoffs despite a roster that included Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. the suns fired coach Mike Budenholzer after one season with the high-priced roster, replacing him with cleveland cavaliers assistant Jordan Ott. phoenix also fired general manager James Jones.”
GRA: Booker was horrible last season and gets this kind of contract extension. He may already be going downhill talent-wise(for many reasons). Michael Jordan wouldn’t be worth 72 MILLION a year, and Booker is definitely not worth more than (pick a number under $10 mil).

Never heard of the guy but that doesn't keep me from making a Fantasy Finance pick: Devin is a keen money manager. He plans to invest wisely, live modestly, and he is on track to be a billionaire by age 40.
Oh! He's got roots in the celebrated Grand Rapids melting pot, and a Mex abuelo, too! Wikipedia says: His parents met while his father was playing basketball for the Continental Basketball Association's Grand Rapids Hoops in [Mama] Gutiérrez's hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
WOOD tv proudly mentioned him as "a Grand Rapids product,"while the sports guy read the story. The two females at the desk--both jaws dropped and they said,"I can't even comprehend making that kind of money a YEAR."
Exactly--and for nothing.

FORMER NBA bLACK NOBODY SENTENCED TO 8 YEARS IN PRISON FOR RAPING A 21 YEAR OLD;HIS STATEMENT TO THE PRESS WAS TYPICAL bLACK B.S.
(Breitbart)Former Kansas Jayhawk and NBA player Ben McLemore has been sentenced to eight years in prison for raping a 21-year-old woman in 2021.
Last week, McLemore was found guilty of one count of first-degree rape, one count of first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, and one count of second-degree sexual abuse, and found not guilty of a second count of second-degree sexual abuse.
On Wednesday, Clackamas County (Oregon) Judge Michael C. Wetzel handed McLemore his eight-year sentence.
“We recognize there are those who fear individuals with celebrity status or a position of prominence can avoid prosecution,” said County District Attorney John Wentworth. “Not in Clackamas County. This case demonstrates my office prosecutes criminal acts regardless of the offender’s community status.”(GRA:Which is comparable to a sewer rat.)
The trial revealed details of the assault, which claimed that McLemore partially penetrated an unconscious woman while at a party hosted by then-Portland Trail Blazers teammate Robert Covington at Lake Oswego, Oregon.
(GRA:Probably not the only rape that night.)
“I strive to live with kindness, to be gentle and show up for my people,” McLemore said in a statement via ESPN. “I care deeply about those around me. And, even in this dark moment, I believe in the power of grace and redemption. I believe in second chances, and will work every day to earn mine.”
(GRA:A second chance to rape again,I understand what he's sayin'.)
McLemore played for five teams over his nine-year NBA career, averaging nine points and two rebounds per game.

WHITE BASEBALL PLAYER,CAL RALEIGH HITS HIS 37TH AND 38TH HOME RUNS TONIGHT--AN AMERICAN LEAGUE RECORD AT(JUST BEFORE) THE ALL STAR BREAK
(Seattle times)Mariners' catcher Cal Raleigh continued sending fly balls into the bleachers,in fact,he accomplished it twice tonight. The switch-hitter unleashed #37 in the eighth innin, but No. 38 was record breaking. It was a grand slam in the ninth off Brant Hurter, the pitcher who gave up Raleigh’s first homer on this march toward history back on March 31. It gave Raleigh sole possession of second all-time for the most homers before the All-Star break, one behind Barry Bonds, who hit 39 in 2001, and the most ever by an American League player.
Raleigh moved past Chris Davis (2013), Mark McGwire (1998) and Reggie Jackson (1969), all of whom hit 37 before the break. Both homers came from the right side, giving him 16 from that side of the plate.
He has six hits in the last 10 games — all six have been home runs.
GRA:The guy is a behemoth. I posted this and another article about Raleigh,a couple weeks ago,to show there's at least one great White player to root for this baseball season. It'd be quite pleasing to see him beat druggie Bonds out of the season record.
