GRA's look back on Washington's big tv roles(combining fact and fiction)
On "Star Trek",Washington was in an episode called "That Which Survives". Playing an extra,Washington gets zapped by Uhura's phaser after making an unwanted advance.
"Do you have bloodhounds in your living area--like they do in Hooterville?"he coos.
"I've got better,mistah,"she says before laying a few hundred volts on him.
On "My Three Sons",Washington suggests he's Steve's(Fred MacMurray)long lost fourth son.
Uncle Charley:What the hell's going on here,Steve? Did you take a walk into Harlem,30 years ago, and now Mr.Octoroon shows up?
Steve:No,Uncle Charley,I never dipped my White pen into black ink. I already took a paternity test--I'm NOT the father.
Uncle Charley:Then I'll call the cops. He's already got his stuff moved in here and he's hitting on Katy(Tina Cole)to beat the band.
Steve:You can do that or just use my phaser--set it to "afro stun."
Uncle Charley:Right.
On "I Dream of Jeannie",Washington had one line,while standing on an elevator with Major Nelson and Jeannie and overhearing Jeannie call Nelson,"master."
