Is npr ceo Katherine Maher cia—or worse?

By N.S.

Christopher Rufo writes:
wikipedia [which Maher ran] is important because it shapes perception and closes the circle of information production. wikipedia replicates left-wing news reporting, news reporting replicates left-wing wikipedia entries, and artificial intelligence replicates both. it’s a closed loop that operates surreptitiously, using its reputation for unbiased knowledge as a cover for its own disinformation.”
N.S.: According to Maher’s npr thumbnail bio, she ran wikimedia/wikipedia for seven years, but neither it nor anywhere else gives the exact years, perhaps because she has a history of running more than one totalitarian political organization at a time.
Rufo: “at npr, Maher has already been embroiled in controversy. longtime editor Uri Berliner, who has now resigned, accused her of left-wing bias and suppressing dissent. following these accusations, I did extensive reporting demonstrating that Maher has a troubling history of arguing against the notion of objective truth and supporting censorship in the name of democracy.”

“now I have gathered additional facts that raise new questions about Maher’s role as a regime-change agent, both foreign and domestic. she has brought the color revolution home to America.”
N.S.: Once upon a time, I was more interested in foreign affairs than domestic politics. I reversed myself on that matter, after I returned from my five-year-long exile to West Germany (1980-1985). One reason was that I grew homesick soon after arriving in West Germany. Another, though not a conscious one for many years, was that it is much harder to understand foreign than domestic affairs. However, domestic affairs are increasingly as opaque as foreign affairs. Inviting the world is a big part of that.

According to law, the central intelligence agency may not meddle in domestic politics. However, it has become clear that for an indeterminate number of years, it has done just that.

The old cia was bad enough, because it operated as a rogue agency, without any real congressional oversight. However, the “new” cia is even worse, because it criminally meddles in domestic, as well as foreign politics. New cia is worse than the old cia, but under the new normal, new cia is simply the cia.

While it would require subpoena power and torture to get to the bottom of what the agency has been up to for generations, we know enough to conclude that it must be shut down. We spend billions of dollars in taxpayer money per year for 16 intelligence agencies (not counting the office of director of national intelligence) that we can do without one or more.

“The NPR boss is a symbol of regime change—foreign and domestic.”
