Harvey Presnell-he dropped the y for his performing career--was born too late for the great Hollywood musical era, but gave great dramatic performances in movies such as Saving Private Ryan (as General of the Army George C. Marshall, in a pivotal scene) and Fargo (as the tough, old bastard of a businessman).
