It’s become surreal so the general public just ignores it. Neither democrats or republicans will seriously address the issue, except some token rhetoric now and then. I just don’t know the answer but here’s some opinions on what it means and what the possible solutions are:

Huge tax increases, followed by a long economic contraction, the only solution. Then stop the spending.

"the general public just ignores it"

Everyone I know is aware of it.

What is the general public supposed to do? They have lives to lead.

The US has a representative democracy, not a direct democracy. The general public can't do anything but vote, and it's pointless to vote for the Uniparty. The GOP will always deficit spend to fund the military, and the libtards will deficit spend to fund everything else. They always compromise and agree to do both.

Put the blame where it belongs: one the venal, corrupt Beltway scum, past and present.

If it's too late for solutions, then what happens when The End comes? China is down to less than $1 Trillion out of the $33 Trillion at this point. Will it be people from the Federal Reserve who come in as Snidely Whiplash waving the mortgage and taking control? Will they do it in a green eyeshade way, slashing The Swamp by 50% and welfare by 50% and social security by 50%? Or will someone find a way to put the USA under a UN receivership?
