Good news! Mike Johnson has won the vote as speaker of the house; he has refused to surrender on the big steal

This Mike Johnson guy had it right on the stolen 2020 election. May be “our” last best chance. (And what’s this captcha it’s making me do - “Select all images that contain bridges” - who am I, Ted Kennedy?)

Mike Johnson has a chance, it appears. From what I’ve read about him, he might be right-wing enough to lead the gop out of commieville.

Johnson does win, sweeping the votes, from what I see. Hakeem Jeffries calls him an extreme conservative.

Perfect.

“most conservative” Johnson wins speaker vote

“(zh) Johnson was elected to congress in 2016, making him the most junior lawmaker in decades to become speaker. he may also be the most conservative. as an evangelical Christian, Johnson is the former chairman of the republican study committee, and has sponsored legislation which effectively bars the discussion of sexual orientation or gender identity for those below the age of 10 at any school which receives federal funds.

Johnson also served on former President Trump’s impeachment defense team.

in the coming weeks, Johnson faces several challenges – including a mid-november deadline to pass a measure to fund the government and avert a shutdown yet again. he’ll also need to navigate the house through the Biden administration’s $105 billion funding request for Israel, the ukraine, and the southern u.s. border [?].

Johnson has notably opposed more funding for the ukraine.

GRA: Sounds promising.

N.S.: The negative is going to be on race. Christian conservatives are always weak on race. Then again, all republicans/conservatives, Christian or otherwise, are invariably weak on race. Just take a look at the President.
