Ben Verde writes for The Brooklyn Paper, a chain of free papers in the eponymous borough.

I came across a story he wrote in January on a bar in a white neighborhood that attracted a violent, black clientele. The bar was owned by a Jew, who played the race card, and organized supporters and at least one paid PR flack to play the race card against the white neighbors his thug clients were terrorizing. Of course, Verde did nothing to expose the race game; he just quoted the racists, without looking for anyone to call them on their racism. Finally, after one of the bar’s precious patrons stabbed someone, the State Liquor Authority shut the joint down.

N.S.: “Living the dream”?! I am calling an emergency meeting of the State Cliché Authority, to have Ben Verde’s Cliché License immediately revoked.
One of Verde’s editors actually highlighted my remark as a quote of the day, or some such. I guess she didn’t know me.
