New Mexico employers can no longer ask applicants for criminal history on job applications
| Starting Friday it will be illegal for employers in New Mexico to ask job seekers for their criminal history on job application forms. www.koat.com |
This is bulls--t.
I am a licensed loan officer in the residential, single family mortgage business.
I had to have an FBI criminal background check in order to become a loan officer. Plus be fingerprinted, have a credit check done, and provide references.
A loan officer.
So, are the lunatics in New Mexico going to allow convicted drug dealers to become neurosurgeons?
Known pedophiles to become day care operators?

Employer:So I've been looking over your job application, uhhh Mr.Laquarious Jones.I see there's a large gap of time in your job history, between 1984 and last week.In fact,it's blank. Can you tell me why?
Laquatious:I donts has to--check da law.
Employer:Well because of the Kardashian initiative, endorsed by President Trump, that forces me to hire you--welcome aboard to the Microsoft programming department.
Laquatious:Where's da break room?
Two weeks later:
"Mass murder at Microsoft by recently released prisoner. No other details will be given.

Just like the City of New York. You can be a convicted felon, pedophile, cop killer but the City of New York will hire you and not discriminate against your criminal history.
