By Nicholas Stix
I have foreign mirror sites all over the world—South Korea, England, Canada, Ireland, Germany, India, etc. I didn’t set them up, Google did!
Thus, the same company that with one hand suppresses my hits by quickly pushing my items off its front page (assuming it doesn’t sometimes block them outright), increases them via mirror sites with the other.
My theory: Algorithms have nothing to do with Google page views. Google has institutional biases for and against certain people and organizations, but it also has employees who freelance, in imposing their own preferences.
My hunches are strongly colored by my experiences with Amazon.com’s Bezos Brigades.
