He'd been on ketamine for years, which is a narcotic used to fight an addiction to a different narcotic (like a heroin addict switching addictions to methadone), only he took an illegally procured dose many times the strength of what he would have legally received. He drowned, due to his overdose, but the coroner covered that up, calling his death, "accidental."
Since he took such a massive dose of the illegally purchased ketamine just before going swimming, the possibility obtains that he committed suicide. If it wasn't suicide, Perry was colossally stupid.

52 yrs. old and had a net worth of 10 million. Not as much as I would have guessed but still pretty damn good. Didn't really age well but that was likely due to substance abuse issues, which also may be why he wasn't worth more money and had that stroke. Still, he had fame other people could only dream about and could make more money with a cush acting gig than a blue collar worker could make in years of soul crushing labor. Was he a typical Hollywood liberal? I have no idea, couldn't find anything about his politics online but depression, drug use and suicide is more common with liberals than conservatives. I've busted a hump for over 4 decades to have a net worth far less than what his is, nor have I had the opportunity to live an indulgent life scoring with Southern Cali girls they way a man like that does. I've always had to settle for pdx ones which at times, can be as depressing as it sounds.
I don't give a damn about his depression or the misery of those others like him who have lives other people can only dream about: Money, looks, fame...but they just can't appreciate it and numb themselves with drugs so they don't have to face the horror of their lives.
If they can't appreciate what they have...then f them, let them dose themselves to death all they want.

Well no one told me ketamine could kill this way,
The guy I bought it from,said,"you won't d.o.a."
It's really more like having a few beers,
So I went home to my sauna convinced, there was nothing to fear.
But,I OD'ed right there--he had told me a lie,
I OD'ed right there, didn't really want to die,
I OD'ed right there--not a thing I could do.
So all the drugs I took, led me to this day,
I lost my mind,my looks--but ketamine's okay,
So I gave the man the dough and came back home,
Jumped into my hot tub to relax, but my mouth started to foam.
I OD'ed right there--dealer told me a lie,
I OD'ed right there,no intention to die,
I OD'ed right there--like to see that guy fry.

Ketamine a prescription drug? I read long ago that it was a pet tranquilizer, and was being used by kids to get high at concerts (what a wonderful world!). Something is strange here, for sure. And this guy was a big star? I never saw him in anything, so I don't know how he looked in his prime, but in the photo he's utterly repulsive. -RM
