The gem of the first season is "Survival," which got director Robert Altman booted from the series along with the original producer. It was way too "arty" for boss man Selig Seligman, who never intended an "anti-war" war series in the first place, and was probably too much for ABC as well. It's nearly a one-man tour-de-force for Vic Morrow, wounded and delirious and trying to get back to the squad- while carrying a dead Nazi on his back that he keeps referring to as his brother! -RM
Gorshin was a fun,impressionist/mimic--sometimes very strange, but always entertaining,I wish there were more videos of his,but there are plenty of them around to get the feel of how talented he was.He was even on "Celebrity Bowling"--a fave show of mine from the 70s,lol.
Throw a gutter ball and say,"You dirty rat."

RM,
I saw that episode a few years ago. It's every bit as good as you said! Maybe that's what got Morrow his Emmy nomination for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series.
