“The pitch got away from me,” said Abdul Salaam bin Laden, hurler for the Hamas Rockies, via facebook. “It was meant to be a brush-back and nothing else. These things happen in our sport.”

After being tossed from the game, police tried to arrest bin Laden, but lost him.

The player who was hit—he only goes by the name of Shloimy—received treatment near home plate, and was allowed to continue in the game.

“That was intentional,” Shloimy said to reporters afterwards, “I have no doubt.”

The Israeli Orthodoxes took the game by a score of 1-0. The two teams will face each other again at a future date.
