GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man died Saturday in a shooting on the southwest side of Grand Rapids, police say.
The family identified the victim as 36-year-old Rovel Woldemicael.
Woldemicael’s family described him as “a very loving father, son, brother, uncle and cousin.”
“He was very charismatic, funny and supportive to all who loved him,” the family said.
According to his family, Woldemicael was Eritrean-American, and he was born and raised in Grand Rapids.
The shooting happened around 3 a.m. in the area of Ionia Avenue SW and Hall Street, police said.

HOW TO GET SHOT/KILLED IN CHICAGO:SIT IN A CITY PARK AT 2 A.M.
CHICAGO — Four people were injured and one is dead after a drive-by shooting that took place in the city’s Garfield Park neighborhood overnight.
According to police, officers found multiple injured individuals near the 4000 block of West Washington Boulevard around 2:07 am. with gunshot wounds.
Police said a 40-year-old woman sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A 38-year-old woman sustained a gunshot wound to the buttocks and was transported to Stroger Hospital where she is listed in fair condition.
A 39-year-old man was shot in the arm and transported to Stroger Hospital where he is listed in fair condition.
One victim told officers that the individual who fired shots was traveling in a car during the time of the shooting.
There is currently no one in custody and police are investigating the incident.
GRA:I took a cursory glance at the last two weeks of mass shootings in the country.If 20% of them have arrests,that's being optimistic.Of course, niggas don't tell,so that's part of it,but do nigga PO-lice departments go after black shooters?
