ATR: My nephew and his wife just sold their primary residence in Austin, and are moving to Dripping Springs in nearby Hays County.
Perfect timing for the s--t storm on the horizon.

How did they get into office?Someone voted them in to allow these kinds of decisions to be made, now, will they be voted out,is the question. If not,no one can complain.

Even in Texas. Even there. Charles Whitman where are you??
Pardon me for doing a little bragging. After living here for decades, my wife and I are finally leaving Austin. We'll be living in Sherman, Texas in a couple weeks.
Austin's city council has been crazy for years. Unfortunately, it has support of the crazy voters who voted it in. The fact that Texas' state government is located here might help when and if the s**t really hits the fan.
I wish the best for the decent people who remain in Austin. Not everyone is self-destructive. But the city as a whole does seem to be "asking for it."
