I love Norman Lear, but I don't believe that he's written the PFAW fundraising letters over the past few years.
PFAW has gone from being a liberal to a racial socialist organization.

 PFAW Member, I'm turning 98 this month, so I figure I have another 15 or 20 years of activism left in me! I hope you'll be by my side. I've seen plenty of ups and downs over my 98 years – in my own life and the life of the country. But I don't remember anything like this. I'm not just talking about the coronavirus pandemic and systemic racism in policing and elsewhere. I'm talking about an epic failure of leadership by Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, William Barr, and Trump's other enablers. They're making our problems worse and weakening our democracy. They've shown that they'll do anything to hold on to power – even blocking Americans from their sacred right to vote. Which is why we have to use every bit of our individual and collective power to fight back. So, on my 98th birthday, I'm writing to ask that you step up to challenge the power of those who have proven that they don't deserve to hold it.
