"This is Our Island"
Truth or Consequences
Note: President Donald Trump took a victory lap in the East Room of the White House today [Thursday], celebrating his impeachment acquittal. He thanked First Lady Melania Trump, his lawyers, and allies who stood by him through the ordeal which began with a formal House inquiry in September. Trump had particularly harsh words for Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Congressmen Adam Schiff (D-California) and Jerry Nadler (D-New York), and former FBI Director James Comey.

Ireland's failed experiment with multiculturalism is playing a leading role ahead of Saturday's general election.
Candidates from the National Party and Anti-Corruption Ireland have taken an aggressive stance defending the country's heritage population, arguably stronger than any other political group in Europe.
At issue is the transformation of Dublin, Cork, and Galway with large numbers of Nigerians and other African nationals. Syrians and Iraqis have also arrived in the tens of thousands since 2000.
Dublin's Central Statistics Office neglects to provide figures for these groups, and instead totals newcomers from the UK, Australia, Canada, the United States, and the nebulous "rest of the world."
Central to the story of demographic change in the Republic of Ireland (population: 4.85 million) is the late "father of globalization" Peter Sutherland.
A former Chairman of Goldman Sachs International (1995-2015), Sutherland also served as the United Nations Special Representative for International Migration from 2006 until 2017. Sutherland was instrumental in impressing upon Irish politicians the "benefits" of multiracialism.
He argued that migration is a "crucial dynamic for economic growth however difficult it may be to explain."
Political worries in Ireland may sound familiar.
Homelessness, overcrowded schools, the high price of real estate, and the costs of absorbing penniless migrants have predominated the run-up to Saturday.
While the Irish press upholds its well-worn liberal bent, parliamentarian hopefuls Peter Casey, Noel Grealish, and Gemma O'Doherty have campaigned to halt non-European migration and the acceptance of UN refugees, and to better fund deportation programs.
O'Doherty, a candidate from Fingal County just north of Dublin, is straightforward.
"My priority, my loyalty, and my duty is to my country, Ireland, and we have to start now as a people saying this is our island, it is tiny, minuscule, and it's for us, the Irish."

It's near to that time of year when media organizations from around the world descend on the icy Quebec archipelago of the Iles de la Madeleine (population: 12,000).
Brigitte Bardot used to make an annual pilgrimage to protest the islanders who bludgeon thousands of harp seals (population: 12,000,000) to protect the islands' fisheries.
That some of the seals' coats are sold to furriers enrages activists, and the media dutifully avoids mentioning that Canada outlawed the killing of the white-furred newborns in 1987.
Nowadays enterprising ecotourism outfits even deliver smiling visitors to the ice floes for photographs with the babies while fishermen surreptitiously hunt the adults out of sight of the cameras.
It's a fascinating part of the world no matter the season.
Access via car ferry operates year-round from Souris, Prince Edward Island. A two-night voyage from Montreal departs midday Fridays from April through October. Air service connects the islands to Atlantic Canada and regular non-stops operate to Montreal.
Because of its isolation, life in the Iles de la Madeleine is traditional. Though all speak French, two villages are distinctly English-speaking, and everyone cheers for the Montreal Canadiens.
Tonight Tele-Quebec, available via many satellite providers, begins its premier season documenting the lives of four lobstering families. As is customary, the nine-week season begins at midnight May 1 each year with fireworks across the islands.

Well the George Soros-supported candidates prevailed in Ireland.
Chalk 'em up as another country going down the tubes.
