Probe of Kenyan Serial Murder Suspect Widens to 1000 Killings, While the National Media Ignore Him; I Wonder Why?

Headlines in the mainstream media trumpeted, "Texas Man Charged with Killing 12 Women" and "Former Nurse is Charged with Murder."

Newsletter readers have known better since May 16, 2019 when Kenyan immigrant Billy Chemirmir, 47, was fingered by authorities after a rash of unexpected deaths of elderly women in the Dallas area.

Now investigators say the Eldama Ravine, Kenya native, who chain-migrated to the United States with the assistance of an older sister in 1998, may be responsible for as many as 1000 murders in North Texas.

Yesterday prosecutors charged the unlicensed home health aide with the murders of Leah Corken, 83, and Juanita Prudy, 82, officially raising Chemirmir's death tally to 14.

Last year the Kenyan was named as the killer of seniors Ann Conklin, Carolyn McPhee, Doris Gleason, Lu Thi Harris, Martha Williams, Minnie Campbell, Miriam Nelson, Norma French, Phoebe Berry, Phyllis Payne, and Rosemary Curtis.

All were asphyxiated.

Chemirmir also bludgeoned Solomon Spring, 89, to death, police say.

He often posed as a maintenance worker to gain access to condominium complexes, apartments, and private residences.

According to The Dallas Morning News, Chemirmir has been directly implicated in the killing of eight others. Charges are pending in those matters, the newspaper reports.

Chemirmir is alleged to have robbed many of the homes of his victims, too.

Soon after arriving in the US, Chemirmir collected two drunken driving arrests, and he was charged with the beating of a girlfriend in 2012.  In June, 2016, Chemirmir was cited for criminal trespass at a luxury senior living facility in Dallas.  His arrest was later tied to the killings of two elderly residents.

Of course the case remains a localized story with coverage limited to the Texas media markets.
