That was my VDARE colleague, John Derbyshire who, in addition to being as first-class mind, is a brilliant judge of journalistic talent.

John was quoting himself from his 2009 work, We are Doomed, in speaking of the recent attendance and grading corruption scandal at Maspeth (Queens) High School. The quote begins just after 20:00 into the recording, but the section begins at 15:41. Of course, the whole thing is worth listening to, because you get not only John’s insights, but his droll, British delivery, characteristic of the Age of “Cowardice,” when the Coward was king. That would be Noel Coward.

You also won’t want to miss the following section, beginning 21: 13, on interracial crime. It seems that in this age of officially vanishing crime, blacks have increased their efforts, while whites have decreased theirs, and the proportions of interracial (black-white) crime have changed from 85-15% black on white, to 90-10% black on white.
