“Today’s immigrants aren’t coming here to breathe free, they’re coming to live for free”—Ann Coulter, Adios, America! The Left’s Plan to Turn Our Country into a Third World Hellhole

Ann Coulter is one of those people you want playing for your team, because you’d hate to have her playing against you. She’s fearless, brilliant, and funny, as one would expect of a great intellectual/journalist, except that such traits have been banned in public life. Her new book Adios, America!, which was released June 1, does not disappoint.

It’s no wonder the bad guys have variously sought to railroad her into prison on false charges and assaulted her at speaking engagements, and that Leftists who have never read her fill up the Amazon pages of her books with fake, one-star reviews. There’s a German phrase that applies perfectly to her: “Viele Feinde, viel Ehr,’”—“Many enemies, much honor.”

My earliest recollection of Coulter’s true colors came right after 9/11. She wrote a column (which NRO published) that called on us to invade Arab Moslem lands and, among other things, convert their inhabitants to Christianity. To borrow from a popular phrase of the time, Ann Coulter’s colors don’t run.

NRO’s reaction to a follow-up column demanding racial profiling in air travel left no doubt that certain Republican apparatchiks’ colors do run. At National Review Online, Jonah Goldberg refused to run Ann anymore. In other words, she said, “Nuts!” to Osama bin Laden—but NR surrendered.

Such gumption on Coulter’s part has developed her a following of millions of readers through a series of best-sellers, usually with one-word titles (Guilty, Slander, Treason, Godless, Mugged, Demonic), about different aspects of the Left’s mission to destroy America, and an often hilarious, weekly syndicated column.

But this two-word title may have been her most daunting task yet. For while most Americans have passionate views about legal immigration and illegal aliens, the Main Stream Media would definitely prefer them to go through life without ever having to read about the subject. Thus, the rich tradition of literature about patriotic immigration reform is unknown to the general public (and, it appears, even to MSM Big Feet like Chuck Todd).

VDARE was launched on Christmas Eve, 1999, largely to warn the general public about America’s immigration disaster, to produce its own research, and to promote that of others. However, it is rare that a writer as popular as Coulter has been willing to devote a book of hard-headed analysis (and ribald humor) to this topic. Big-time literary agents do not whisper in their clients’ ear: “How about an immigration book?” Diet books, yes. Spirituality books, sure. Anything but immigration.

Last fall, a friend who is an old immigration hand was wondering aloud how to phrase the political importance of immigration. It’s more than an issue: It’s the keystone of American politics.

Coulter understands this perfectly:
“There’s no sense in arguing about any other political issue. If we lose immigration, we lose everything.”
And elsewhere: “Amnesty is forever.”

In a contemporary turn on the need for eternal vigilance, Coulter emphasizes that turning back another mass Amnesty of illegal aliens is not a one-time deal. The racial socialists, er, Democrats, will keep on seeking to turn the country’s demographics into those of a “Third World hellhole,” in order to guarantee themselves a permanent, one-party dictatorship.

Coulter argues that no-one supports mass, Third World immigration out of anything but the basest of motives. All talk of “humanitarianism” is a front for material interests:

  • Votes for Democrats;
  • Cheap labor, including slaughterhouse workers, busboys, nannies and gardeners; and
  • Jobs working as government bureaucrats, translators, teachers and within the Refugee Racket
That the immigrants are mostly Hispanic is for Coulter a matter of expediency for those profiting off them—if they were Polish immigrants, the Open Borders Lobby wouldn’t be able to denounce critics as RACIST! She speaks of “the maniacal blacklisting in store for anyone with second thoughts about turning America into Mexico.”

(I think there’s more to it than that, because most of the immigrants are themselves racist to the bone, and are pawns in a race war.)

Coulter talks about how an infusion of millions of unskilled foreigners has depressed wages for millions of American workers, while throwing other millions of Americans out of work, whereas Americans must pay billions in costs for schooling the aliens’ children, for infrastructure they use and wear down, and for welfare programs they exploit (food stamps, medical treatment, traditional welfare, etc.), not to mention the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), as well as unemployment and welfare for the dispossessed American workers.

But she goes way beyond that, to themes VDARE readers are familiar with, but the general public is not: The reintroduction of indentured servitude and outright slavery in America; the institutionalization of Third World rape culture, within subcultures that treat girls and women in monstrous fashion completely incompatible with American mores; and the filth spread by people who habitually litter everywhere, while ignoring convenient trash receptacles, and who deface everything, even our national parks, with their gang tags.

Coulter recounts case after case of heinous criminals and terrorists who were enabled by our America Last immigration and criminal justice systems.

She brings up illegal immigrant child-rapist Juan Carlos Sanchez in Ohio, not to be confused with illegal alien child rapist Juan Carlos Sanchez in Colorado, or illegal alien child rapist Juan Carlos Sanchez in North Carolina, or pedophile homosexual Juan Carlos Sanchez—not to mention the hundreds of thousands of Hispanic alien child rapists and homosexual pedophiles not named Juan Carlos Sanchez!

There’s the Indian, Lakireddy Bali Reddy, who used the H-1B visa to import the best and the brightest—12 and 13-year-old girls from India, whom he turned into sex slaves, raping them countless times, killing one via negligent homicide (carbon monoxide poisoning), and almost killing a second girl, who barely survived.

He should have gotten life, right? At first, all he got was “a fine for the carbon monoxide leak.” The police and the MSM buried the whole incident.

The only reason the public ever learned about the case, and Reddy was tried in court, was that a high school journalism class exposed the whole sordid business.

Reddy got a maximum possible prison sentence of…eight years.

As Coulter points out, like other alien criminals, Reddy enjoyed one form after another of Affirmative Action, including in the criminal justice system.

And then there are the World Trade Center I bombers from 1993, who exploited gigantic loopholes Charles Schumer had sponsored, so they could claim to have been farmworkers, and stay on to bomb the WTC, kill six people, wound 1,000 people, cause half a billion dollars in damage, and still almost escape detection.

Lambasting our corrupt, anti-white MSM is a Coulter theme throughout the book.

She savages the MSM’s passionate promotion of campus rape hoaxes (Duke and UVa), while refusing to report honestly on alien crime saying, “The media balance out their censorship of news about immigrant rapists with false accusations of rape against American men.”

Here’s her “Secret Decoder Ring for Immigrant Crimes”:
It’s great living in America and having to interpret news stories as if we’re reading Pravda. Usually, the only way to tell if a crime story involves an immigrant is if:

1. The crime involves a uniquely perverse sexual assault, such as gang rape, child rape, or incest;

2. The rapist is shocked that anyone thinks he did something wrong;

3. A woman is involved in the rape or the cover-up;

4. The rapist’s name would not be found in a phonebook from the 1960s;

5. Newspapers informatively refer to the rapist in their headlines as: “Man.”

But those telltale signs allow only an educated guess that the perpetrator is an immigrant. To confirm it, one must search for words such as “ICE” or “translator.”

Coulter notes that alien criminals and their benefactors have demanded and gotten court translators, and then, aided and abetted by treasonous jurists, used that as yet another scam with which to thwart justice: claiming that the translator misinterpreted their confessions.

There is the Coulterism of the sardonically funny subheading:
At Least Mexico Doesn’t Behead People Like ISIS—Wait, What?
Coulter discusses the cases of one Third World “refugee” grifter after another, including “victim” Amadou Diallo—and they’re all grifters.
Automatic Entry for the Worst Cultures in the World
The entire world outside of America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and parts of Western Europe is a humanitarian crisis. We’re not even rescuing the real victims, who are either dead or can’t catch an international flight to the United States. In any event, that’s not our job.

… asylum is used to turn America into a dumping ground for the most backward people on earth. No advanced country could ever produce the sort of persecution our immigration laws reward, so the asylum welcome mat gets rolled out only for criminals, scam artists, and terrorists….

Shut It Down
The only way to stop the nonsense is to have an immigration moratorium. [VDARE.com emphasis.] It would be nice to get some British and Dutch immigrants again, but it’s not worth the risk of keeping our immigration bureaucracy in business.

Just shut it down. No more family reunification, no more scam marriages, no more refugees, no more phony asylum cases (which is all of them), and no more “high-tech workers” providing slave labor to Microsoft and concubines to Indian pedophiles. No legal fixes can make a dent in our behemoth immigration apparatus.
Coulter then comes to the matter of the Open Borders non-profits, which can only be shut down via an immigration moratorium.

Coulter cleverly turns around the phony claims of immigrant activists, who continually assert that America treats immigrants terribly, into an argument against immigration—for the immigrants’ own sake!

Coulter notes that more Americans support Obamacare, and have favorable views towards North Korea than support an increase in immigration. She argues that while Republican Party leaders are completely in the bag for big, Open Borders-Cheap Labor Lobby donors.

But she also claims that immigration patriots are political fools who demand perfection (i.e., Jeff Sessions or Tom Tancredo), and “stay home and pout” on Election Day, if they don’t get their wish. She contrasts the NRA, which gets its way with GOP pols, vs. immigration patriots, who don’t.

Hmmm—count me a pouter. And she neglects to mention that the NRA gives pro-Second Amendment politicians significant PAC money (albeit less in recent years), while immigration patriots are not an organized source of campaign contributions. Organized, earmarked money talks.

Coulter does affirm what we at VDARE call “the Sailer Strategy”—electoral inreach, rather than outreach:
The GOP’s only move is to run the table on white voters, as Reagan did.”

By unapologetically opposing the transformation of America into a Third World country, the GOP would sweep the white vote—once white people recovered from the shock of any candidate asking for their vote. Why should Republicans be ashamed of getting white votes?
Finally, she provides readers with an immigration scorecard for major Republican presidential candidates (somewhat cursory—and with the curious omission of Donald Trump and Scott Walker).

Her choice is clearly Mitt Romney, whom she insists would be tough on immigration.

He would? In my opinion, there are two problems with Coulter’s choice: 1. The man whom I dubbed “the invertebrate” during the 2012 campaign can’t be trusted to stick to his guns under fire on anything; and 2. Romney has recently said repeatedly that he will not run for president in 2016.

That caveat notwithstanding, Adios, America! is yet another home run for Ann Coulter—and, potentially, for America.

"2. The rapist is shocked that anyone thinks he did something wrong"

The perpetrator often is honestly is surprised he is accused of having done something wrong. The bad behavior whatever the nature of the offense is standard conduct in the old country. These folks often are not the brightest light bulbs.
