ANTIOCH — A 3-year-old toddler died Tuesday night after police said the child shot themselves with a gun at a home, police said.

Few details about the incident were available Wednesday morning, including whether the toddler was a boy or a girl. In a statement, Antioch police said they would share additional details as they became available.

Officers were called to a residence on Clearbrook Road off Lone Tree Way about 6 p.m. after callers reported a shooting to the dispatch center. The child died at the scene. 

"police did not announce any arrests. "At this time, the incident appears to be an accidental shooting," police said in their statement. "This is a heartbreaking event, and our thoughts are with the family and those affected during this incredibly difficult time."

Presumably these unidentified women are family members of the dead child. And note nbc's spelling of the caption.

Naturally, the "chaperone" for the story is a black ("I know a good one") newscaster, Pete Suratos. He states, 'antioch pd says that no one is in custody at this time [for child endangerment? negligent homicide? manslaughter"?--or just plain stupidity?] and that the case is still under investigation, but they plan to release more details on this shooting in the coming days."

The good news is that a future burden on society has been removed, although how many other Future Felons of America will these women have produced?

bLACK MASS SHOOTING IN VIRGINIA--THREE NIG NAPS OUT OF 6 SHOT

(nbc noise)Four teenagers were charged on Wednesday in connection with a shooting in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, that killed three people and injured three more, authorities said Wednesday.

The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office said in a Wednesday Facebook statement that four people — two 16-year-olds, one 17-year-old, and one 18-year-old — were all charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony unlawful assembly in connection with the Tuesday evening shooting.


"Initial investigation reveals that this was an illegal gun sale/robbery," the sheriff's office said.

Three of the suspects have been arrested and are being held with no bond, the sheriff's office said. One of the 16-year-old suspects is currently at a local hospital being treated for a gunshot wound.

Two of the victims were identified as 18-year-old Chase Feaster and 18-year-old Alonzo Goffney. The third victim, a 20-year-old, was not identified by the sheriff's office on Wednesday pending confirmation with the Medical Examiner's Office. Authorities did not provide any information on the three people injured during the gunfire.
