I thought of this song parody immediately--from the cars (1978)

"All Fu**ed Up", sung to "All Mixed Up"--a great song.

By GRA

The mexicans are a terror,

In a place that once was White,
And anything that will happen there,
Winds up in a gun fight.

It's all fu**ed up,
It's all fu**ed up,
It's all fu**ed up.

(Guitars kick in)

They've taken over Austin,
The bars get swarmed like flies,
A peaceful night is never,
And it ends when someone dies.

It's all fu**ed up.
It's all fu**ed up,
It's all fu**ed up.

(Chorus)

It was a Whitey city (Whitey city),
It all changed overnight (over night),
It was a Whitey city(Whitey city),
It all changed over night.
(Guitars)

The cops are out taking pictures,
Of cordoned off murder scenes,
The shots blew out the windows,
It's all worse than it seems.
It's all fu**ed up,
It's all fu**ed up,
It's all fu**ed up.

(Chorus)

It was a Whitey city (Whitey city),
It all changed overnight (over night),
It was a Whitey city (Whitey city),
It all changed over night (over night)

It was a Whitey city (Whitey city)
It all changed overnight (over night)

(Repeat til instrumental finish).

End.

There's some live stuff on YouTube that's pretty good to listen to while reading this--or the old recording. Funny how changing the lyrics makes the original song very powerful,I think.

I loved the way on the album / cassette tape that Side 2 ended with "Moving in Stereo" fading into the start of "All Mixed Up". On my to-do list to put the .mp3 tracks together. Ditto for Bob Seger's combo of Travelin' Man with Beautiful Loser.

There's a live performance of that on YouTube from '78.
