"Not a suspect?" No wonder cops and woke DAs don't solve crimes. Too much evidence to arrest him for ARSON. It's all optics these days--make sure the public doesn't get the "wrong idea" about invaders and black mayors.
You can't fool all of the people,all of the time,though. Whether there's enough "unfooled" to get a recall going is the big question. From what I've read,they need 20% of the total number of voters who voted in the last mayoral election(929,000) to sign a petition to get Bass Ackward's recall going--which would be 185,000 signatures. The last I read,around 100,000 signatures had been obtained.
