President Trump’s strategy to change the birthright citizenship rules

(GRA) nbc noise now, at 1:10 p.m. today, had their legal expert going over any executive order that would attempt to overturn the birthright citizenship question.

“the Trump administration will seek to rewrite the 14th amendment by using the scenario which is already an accepted practice: ‘if an ambassador from another country has a baby in this country, that child is deemed to NOT be an American citizen’—that is already standard operating procedure. the childbearing ambassador, not being an American citizen, cannot have the child be designated a U.S. citizen. Trump believes the same rule should apply to [invaders] who are not citizens. that’s the crux of the Trump argument.’”

That obscure rule (about ambassadors) is an interesting angle to pursue, in applying it to invaders having kids here. In my humble opinion, that strategy is their best hope of re-interpreting what a natural-born citizen should actually be.

N.S.: The way to approach the 14th amendment is:

1. To emphasize the phrase “under the jurisdiction” of a foreign government—each of these newborns is under the jurisdiction of his parents’ government;

2. That the mother committed a crime, in order to bear the child on American soil; and

3. Worse comes to worse, you deport the foreign criminal mother, and her network of foreign, criminal accessories. That would disincentivize birth tourism.
