An experienced national security expert that has worked on some of the most challenging issues facing our nation. From my years in the U.S. Senate through my time at the U.S. Department of State, I've been devoted to managing relationships, advancing our values, and the full range of strategic stability issues with China and Russia. This work includes but isn't limited to nuclear nonproliferation, cyber security, artificial intelligence, disruptive technologies, and energy security issues.
Over 15 years of experience problem solving, developing strategic communications, and providing objective national security policy and intelligence analysis - with an emphasis on emerging technology issues, notably cyber-security, artificial intelligence, and quantum information sciences.
I've had a very diverse career having served as a staffer to Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Senate, as a diplomat in the U.S. Department of State, a Special Agent at the FBI, and as a manager in the U.S. intelligence community. Currently, serving in the Joint Staff at the Department of Defense. Most notably, my work directly supported the negotiation, ratification, and implementation of the U.S.-Russia New START Treaty under President Obama.
