Apparently, some smart meters have backup lithium ion batteries.
The batteries can self-combust due to thermal runaway.

They're pushing for the smart meters here in upstate NY- I opted out, but if they get enough idjits to sign up for the program, there's going to be a monthly fee for NOT having one! I looked up my company (NYSEG), and guess what- the CEO is a blatant lesbian, and the person in charge of smart meters is a tranny!
Odd thing about the wildfires- the fear-mongering Accuweather site said we had a "high threat" of wildfires this summer, even though it rained most of the time. The chemtrails were being sprayed nearly every day, and there has been talk that fire-accelerants have been distributed into the air in that manner (maybe that was in connection with Maui)- I was kind of worried that WE were being targeted for a fire disaster (it's a Repub-leaning spot, like most of upstate outside of the big cities).
