shoplifting threatens closure of se DC grocery store, creating potential food desert
From The Onion.
My late mother used to shop at the old Jumbo Food Store in Southeast Washington. This was many, many years ago. I remember shopping with her. https://www.foodtradenews.com/2012/07/11/shoppersjumbo-founder-kenneth-herman-dies-92/

There were no "food deserts" in Southeast Washington when I was growing up.
What changed?
Well, other than the demographics?
"Some of the regional leadership at this Giant, what we heard was disheartening. We learned that this Giant has lost over $500,000 in product loss, which is about 20% of the sales. We know it's tough times and we know the price of food has skyrocketed in the last three years. But we cannot afford to hurt ourselves by constantly taking it from the store. It means that everybody is going to be without a place to eat. And enough is enough."

If they close, blacks will just steal some cars and drive to a Whitey neighborhood for their shoplifting needs.

oh no!
lol
lots of blacks look like they would be ok for a while with less food
Across the board. Food "desert" in colored areas because of all the shoplifting. Chain grocery stores look at the bottom line, know the bad areas and stay away. Hell, the situation for the small corner-shop convenience store hardly any better. In the little corner store you get not only robbed but shot and killed.
