WHO'S THE MOST DANGEROUS PERSON IN THE WORLD?THIS HISPANIC MANIAC--AT LEAST HE WAS FOR A COUPLE HOURS IN NYC TODAY
(ZH)A deranged 25-year-old Hispanic male indiscriminately shot four people, killing one, while casually motoring around New York City on a scooter. Police say the suspect was experiencing a mental health crisis.
The shooting spree in Brooklyn and Queens started around 1110 ET Saturday and ended two hours later, police said. The 25yo gunman was in possession of a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun with a high capacity magazine and an "illegal" scooter, New York Police First Deputy Commissioner Edward Caban said at a news conference.
Police sources told NBC News that the suspect "appears to suffer from emotional or mental issues." NYPD Assistant Chief Joseph Kenny noted that the suspect was a "male Hispanic."
RICHMOND HILL, Queens (WABC) -- A scooter-riding gunman killed an 86-year-old man and wounded 3 others in a string of random shootings across Queens and Brooklyn, police said.
Thomas Abreu, 25, was taken into custody by police and on Sunday was charged with murder, attempted murder, and criminal possession of a weapon.
A 9 mm handgun with an extended magazine and a scooter were recovered.
"We don't know the motive. It seems his acts were random," Kenny said. "Video shows that he's not targeting anybody - he's not following anybody as he's driving on his scooter, he's randomly shooting people."
The shootings began around 11:10 a.m. when someone on a scooter shot a 21-year-old man in the shoulder near the intersection of Ashford Street and Arlington Avenue Brooklyn. He was brought to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in stable condition and is expected to survive, police said.
Seventeen minutes later, Hamoo Saeidi, 86, was found with a gunshot wound to his back in front of 108-19 Jamaica Avenue in the Richmond Hill section of Queens. Saeidi was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where he later died.
Shortly afterward in Queens, witnesses reported a man on a scooter firing randomly into a group of people standing at the intersection of 108th Street and Jamaica Avenue, although nobody was hurt.
At 11:35 a.m. at Hillside Avenue and 126th Street, a 44-year-old man was shot in the face. He was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in critical condition.
Just two minutes later at Jamaica Avenue and 134th Street, a 63-year-old man was shot in the right shoulder. He was taken to Jamaica Hospital medical Center in stable condition.
Police later discovered there was a sixth shooting incident. At 11:36 p.m. a 40-year-old man was standing at the intersection of Jamaica Avenue and 131 Street when gunfire was discharged in his direction. The suspect then fleed the location. The victim was not injured in the gunfire.
"Armed with an image of the suspect as officers fanned out across Queens," said NYPD Acting Police Commissioner Edward Caban.
Caban called for a critical message - that means an image of the suspect was sent to every NYPD officer on the street. It helped officers from 103rd and 113th Precincts recognize and arrest the suspect in Queens just after 1 p.m.
"The 9mm pistol had an extended magazine. Given the violence, this individual was willing to carry out, I want to express my gratitude to the men and women in the NYPD," added Caban.
CLEVELAND bLACK WANTED FOR MASS SHOOTING SUNDAY MORNING--9 INJURED.
(CNN)At least nine people suffered gunshot wounds in a mass shooting in Cleveland early Sunday morning, according to local police, who believe a single suspect fired on a group of people before fleeing the scene.
No one has died as a result of the shooting, which Cleveland Division of Police Chief Wayne Drummond said happened in the city’s Warehouse District at 2:25 a.m., when an unidentified individual shot at a group of people.
The suspect then fled the scene that Jennifer Ciaccia, an agency spokesperson, described in a statement as “chaotic.”
Cleveland officers were already nearby as part of a routine detail in the area, the chief said. They responded immediately and gave medical aid to the victims, who include seven men and two women ranging in age from 23 to 38, Drummond said.
No officers were hurt, Ciaccia said.
Victims were shot in places ranging from their knees and legs to their feet and arms, according to a news release.
None of the victims’ injuries appeared to be life-threatening, according to Ciaccia.
MetroHealth Medical Center confirmed it received nine victims, with spokesperson Dorsena Koonce telling CNN that, as of early Sunday afternoon, two victims had been treated and released, five were in the emergency department, one was in the operating room and another had already had surgery.
Police are following leads and will “continue to work extremely hard to try to find” the person responsible, said Drummond. At that time, investigators had “no indication” that anything of note had taken place before the suspect opened fire.
Investigators said they were also reviewing evidence and video and have interviewed victims, a statement from Ciaccia says.
Police have described the suspect as a Black man wearing dark clothing.
(GRA:I left that uppercased.because blacks--being the cream of the country--deserve it--major sarcasm)
The shooting is just the latest example of America’s struggle with gun violence, as mass shootings continue largely unmitigated.
(GRA:AMERICA'S struggle? We're on the receiving end,but the minorities are the perps 90% of the time.)
There have been at least 365 mass shootings so far in 2023, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which, like CNN, defines a mass shooting as one in which four or more people are shot, excluding the shooter.
The video of the 87 year old man getting murdered,by being shot in the back,is one that makes my blood boil--times a hundred.I just viewed the execution and these spics and nig*ers who think a gun makes them somebody and driving around unloading bullets into strangers,is a joke, need to be punished the same way. That's not cruel and unusual punishment--that's justice.A judge should rule that way after laws are amended to allow for such a decision. Absolutely disgusting and infuriating.
