Not in the Old Neighborhood: Weekend Shootings in Chicongo

"W": Again, they are only reporting the "gun violence." But how many were clubbed, stabbed, run down by motor vehicles, pushed in front of traffic, and all the other ways "they" brutally treat each other? Any official count?

How many were reportedly shot: by the police? White MAGA-cap wearers? Amish "youths"? Presbyterians? Who are the alleged perps?

N.S.: Years ago, one of my other guys used to send me the weekend hit parade from the Trib every week. However, it was largely worthless. It was usually done by alleged crime reporter, Peter Nickeas. I took to calling him, "No-Name" Nickeas, because he never provided vics' names (not even in follow-ups), or physical descriptions of the perps. Instead, he'd tell you the color of the perp's car, and maybe the color of his pants. And although he would report the intersections where each murder was committed, he would never divulge the names of the black gangs fighting for control of said turf, even though the locals surely knew. Such knowledge was a matter of life and death.

So, following the scrappy koala rule ("When you don't tell us the race, you tell us the race"), you knew the perps were all black.

And of course, as "W" began pointing out, the "reports" never mentioned non-firearm murders.

Years later, I discovered that Nickeas did know how to report on crime, when he wrote a real crime report, before jumping back into the closet.
