Yeah! *sigh* Story at the daily mail today (behind the paywall, *sigh* again) “What it’s like being the ONLY White britons left on the street where we’ve lived for 40 years.”
Oh, wait! If I click the reading-mode icon in the browser, the article is available. Surprised that daily mail made that amateur mistake. So, here is the link. “Cathy and Julian are two of the only three ‘White britons’ in the area around their Leicester home, according to the 2021 census. they make up 0.2 per cent of the local population of 1,865 – outnumbered 600 to one by other ethnic groups.” But then it goes squish: “I get on well with my muslim and hindu neighbours. They check I’m OK and bring me round food. They’re good neighbours.”
The reporter does mention that “a cricket match between pakistan in india provided a flashpoint in 2022 when mainly young men from sections of the muslim and hindu communities clashed in the streets over a series of nights.” Yeah, those yoots and the pesky flashpoints.
Asking for trouble in north texas: “Plano gives $1,200,000 to jihad-aligned islamic charities” at jihad watch (Robert Spencer).

TV GUIDE, 1965:
"THIS QUESTION OF COLOR" Ch. 13 (NET) (emphases mine)-
"Nearly 40,000 [!] immigrants from Asia and the West Indies are entering Britain EACH YEAR, and the influx is creating problems new to the isles- RACE PREJUDICE in housing, employment, and schools. This program focuses on the IMMIGRANTS' problems and how THEY are coping with them..."
40 thousand a year back in 1965, and the focus is on THEM, not how the native Britons have to cope with crime, drugs, miscegenation, losing jobs, seeing their culture replaced, etc. Of course, they kicked Churchill out after the War and installed a socialist government, so who can they blame but themselves (assuming THOSE elections weren't rigged). Britain also has always had an excessive amount of homosexuality, and those people, if put in power, LOVE to import "dark meat."
TV GUIDE made sure to give this "educational" program a special highlight.

In 1965,I would guess today,the only "question of color" up for debate,would be whether or not to switch from a black and white tv set TO a color one. The answer? You can wait until next year(1966).

HOW DID HE DO THAT? ONE INDIAN WALKS AWAY FROM PLANE CRASH THAT KILLS 240 IN AHMEDABAD
ass(ociated)press:An Air India passenger plane bound for London with more than 240 people on board crashed into a medical college after takeoff Thursday in the northwestern city of Ahmedabad, officials said, in one of India’s worst airline disasters in decades.
A single passenger survived the crash, according to a senior Indian official. The airline said there were no other survivors, and a local official put the latest death toll at 240, including some victims on the ground.K
What do we know about the victims? Air India said there were 169 Indians, 53 Britons, seven Portuguese and one Canadian on the flight. Part of the plane fell on top of a dining facility at a medical college, killing at least five medical students and injuring nearly 50, according to a medical association. A local hospital has received 186 bodies.
Who is the survivor? The lone surviving passenger is Vishwashkumar Ramesh, who reportedly walked away after the accident and appeared to escape without life-threatening injuries. “He was disoriented with multiple injuries all over his body,” Dr. Dhaval Gameti told the AP. “But he seems to be out of danger.”
What caused the crash? That’s unclear. A video of the crash shows the plane with with its nose pointed upward, sinking toward the ground before crashing and generating a huge fireball. An international investigation is underway to determine the specific causes.

Why can't anyone tell a news story without prefacing it with "what we know,"who is the survivor"?"What caused the crash"? Just SAY IT.

Maybe that's the problem- no one was paying attention then, even with the black and student riots. Here's another gem, also from NET, broadcast a week later- and this one has quite a punchline:

Yeah, Communism was never a real threat, and the civil rights movement wasn't Communist-driven, and MLK wasn't a Red, etc. etc.
People SHOULD have been concerned with more than the Fall TV schedule, or whether or not to buy a color TV.
If you missed it, I mentioned a book recently whose title always impressed me- AMUSING OURSELVES TO DEATH.
I don't even know who or how many actually read these posts. I'm trying in my modest way to document aspects of social history that no one talks about.
