child sacrifice=success?

Forgive me for beating the dead nag, but I just recalled this: Stevie Nicks said recently that people should support abortion, because if she hadn't had one, Fleetwood Mac would never have existed. As much as I enjoyed some of their music, when you start equating child sacrifice with success, you're definitely veering into the territory of satanism.

A fellow named Neil Postman wrote a book decades ago about mass media which I never read, but the title always stuck with me: Amusing Ourselves to Death. Maybe that's a good epitaph for our times.

Well, the old-timers weren't multi-millionaires-the ones who made the biggest killing were those who invested in real estate back when it was still plentiful and affordable. But most of them didn't seem to have much more upstairs than the current crop-though they certainly had more talent, and better looks. Someone from the Old Days once described actors as "people who get drunk at parties and fall into the fireplace." And Hitchcock famously (and tactlessly) referred to actors as "cattle."

Here is the actual quote:

"If I had not had that abortion, I’m pretty sure there would have been no Fleetwood Mac," Nicks, 72, told the outlet. "There’s just no way that I could have had a child then, working as hard as we worked constantly. And there were a lot of drugs, I was doing a lot of drugs … I would have had to walk away."

She could she have walked away or let her parents raise her kid? Or give it up for adoption? That's an alternative but it can turn out bad, look up what happened with Joni MItchell when her long lost, and quite bitter, daughter looked her up. Or she could have had her child and worked with the compromises it would have required. Fleetwood Mac still could have existed as a creative band, some famous musicians have balanced their careers with child rearing. What she could not have indulged in fully is the drugs, relentless touring, partying and other excesses, most of which she didn't have to do, she just wanted to. She should be more honest about that.
One has to wonder though, she's 72 now and if she had children, she would likely have grandchildren also. Is she truly happy with all her success or would she be happier now with the love and comfort of progeny who love you unconditionally...and a little less fame and money?

Oh, well, of course, Stevie. The mental well-being of the mother. The medical terminology is "nightmare scenario", as you told Entertainment Weekly:"But mostly, having a child with Don Henley would not have gone over big in Fleetwood Mac, with Lindsey and me — we had been broken up for two or three years. It would've been a nightmare scenario for me to live through."

And: "'Now what the hell am I going to do? I cannot have a child,'" she recalled to the outlet. "I am not the kind of woman who would hand my baby over to a nanny, not in a million years. So we would be dragging a baby around the world on tour, and I wouldn't do that to my baby. I wouldn't say I just need nine months. I would say I need a couple of years, and that would break up the band, period. So my decision was to have an abortion."

That nanny line reminds me Rush Limbaugh's brilliant Caller Abortion monologue from the 1980s:

Then somebody said, "Rush, ...[t]his is not the stuff you're made of. You don't abort calls, Rush. Put 'em up for adoption. Put 'em on hold. Let some other host adopt that call, leave it for somebody else to take."

And I said "I can't do that."

"Why not?"

"That, that poor call might be abused! I don't know what the
adopting host is going to do. ... no! No, I'm going to abort these calls ..."

The Liberpool car attacker has been identified by the NY Post, except they're still not telling us who, or what, he is:

https://nypost.com/2025/05/29/world-news/liverpool-fc-parade-crash-suspect-idd-as-normal-well-balanced-suburban-family-man-report/

They've interviewed his neighbors who are telling us the guy's life story and have reviewed his social media presence but won't give us a name. If they know where the guy lives and have spoken to his neighbor's then they sure as heck know his name. Article cites LeBron James, because he is a minority owner in the soccer club, who say's he is horrified. LeBron is only horrified because he's heard the perp is White, if it were a brotha, he'd be giving him the black power salute.
So when do they finally name this guy?

When he's charged officially. I posted the other day,Jerry,Britain can't name a perp until charged--arrested isn't enough.
