cbs should "go away"--and take nbc,abc and pbs with them, thought it would be tremendous fun to see the wailing and gnashing again after a Trump win.

IS THE "SATURDAY NIGHT" BIOPIC WORTH GOING OUT TO THE MOVIES AGAIN? DAN ACKROYD CALLS IT,"A MASTERPIECE."
(Hollywood reporter)Original SNL cast member Dan Acktoyd talks about the new "Saturday Night " movie--released on October 11th.
“I was there that night(in 1975)and got to relive it wonderfully again. Congratulations Gil, Jason and Blumie. Don’t miss it whether you know the show or not. It is a stand-alone masterpiece and surefire candidate for Best Picture.”
Saturday Night takes place on Oct. 11, 1975, the day SNL premiered, and follows a ferocious troupe of young comedians and writers who change television forever. Dylan O’Brien plays Aykroyd, alongside Gabriel LaBelle (Lorne Michaels), Rachel Sennott (Rosie Shuster), Cory Michael Smith (Chevy Chase), Ella Hunt (Gilda Radner), Emily Fairn (Laraine Newman), Matt Wood (John Belushi), Lamorne Morris (Garrett Morris), Kim Matula (Jane Curtin), Nicholas Braun (Andy Kaufman) and Andrew Barth Feldman (Neil Levy).
Director,Jason Reitman previously told The Hollywood Reporter that finding the movie’s Aykroyd was the most difficult, saying, “It was genuinely scary.” The filmmaker said the actor had a “very unique sex appeal,” so when he learned that “there was an appreciation of Dylan O’Brien” among women, Reitman knew he found the right guy for the role.
GRA:The clip I saw of the actors is impressive. I may have to trek out to a theater for the first time since 2011.

MORE ON "SATURDAY NIGHT--THE MOVIE"
GRA:The reviews are fantastic. I used to work on Saturday nights at a bowling alley(my first real job). The bar had a tv and I remember people watching the show(after the first week or two,it was the hot program to watch). I caught a few minutes of it from time to time.
1975:Monty Python and the Holy Grail,Jaws and SNL.
On the down side, disco was exploding. On the upside, rock and pop music were pretty good. TV had great shows--M*A*S*H,"All in the Family","Bob Newhart","Carol Burnett","Mary Tyler Moore"--just on Saturday night.
Johnny Carson was in his prime,so was Rickles.John Wayne,Bob Hope,Jimmy Stewart,Paul Newman still walked the Earth, entertaining us. Raquel Welch,Ann Margaret,Adrienne Barbeau et al,were in their prime.
And then..."Live,from New York,it's Saturday Night LIVE."
Pretty good time to grow up.
