"Cringe" is not a #!!%#@!! NOUN! And any time I complain about it online I get told more-or-less, "The English language is always changing, shut up and get used to it." Yeah, changing to garbage! Likewise for junk like "wellness" and "impacted," and all the "Internet Gibberish" like LOL, WTF, SMH, and on and on. Like one big parrot cage where someone spouts some idiocy, and right away all the squawking birds are mimicking it. At some point no one under a certain age will be capable of reading anything written in the 20th century- a common newspaper will seem as obtuse as Shakespeare.
