Baseball updates: It's going to be an asterisk world series; the yankees shoot down the indians, and the federal crime dodgers, featuring the gambler, beat the amazin' mestizos

GRA: They win the best-of-7 series, 4-1. Can the Amazin' Mestizos provide an all ny series--the same scenario I had written about in 2020 (with manager Nicholas Stix)?

It will take an unlikely comeback vs. the crime dodgers. Unlikely, but not impossible.

Bottom 8th inning: crime dodgers 7, mestizos 4 By Grand Rapids Anonymous

(GRA) dodger relief pitching went right through the heart of the mestizos' line-up in the top of the eighth, three up and three down, making it look like the home team has demoralized and will ultimately defeat their opponents from N.Y. tonight. The world series beckons between the yankees and dodgers.

You're right,N.S.

The two teams with the biggest payrolls win again. I know about 5 players on each team, but, like the Super Bowl,I'll still watch--if they show them on the channels I get(FOX,abc)on free antenna tv.

An interesting suggestion of a video to watch was given to me by youtube---I'll pass it along:1977 World Series between the Yankees and Dodgers--Linda Ronstadt--looking and sounding great--singing the national anthem. She was quite the dish.

A lot of stars on both those clubs too.

Note: In the past,I've pitted the two league champion cities into a "World Series of Murder" competition. With interference being exposed, during the last 10 days, about big city crime reports,I've decided the statistics cannot be trusted and will therefore postpone the "World Series of Murder" for 2024.

Maybe the Super Bowl.

Fernandomania lives on(unwarranted);Valenzuela dead at 63--woke(and mex)sportswriters want him in the hall of fame.

GRA:A mex writer,Gustavo Arrelano, for the l.a. times admits the lifetime stats aren't "hall of fame" material, but this morning, that doesn't matter. Fernando Valenzuela has taken his last siesta and the clamoring is on:because he was so popular with latinos, push him into "the hall".

Back then, baseball had a lot of "manias". There was "Bird Mania"(Mark Fidrych),"Brett mania,"(attempting to hit .400),Vida Blue,Rose going for DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak--whatever. Valenzuela was just the latest one.

I believe he had 4 excellent years, but finished slightly above .500 for his win loss record(app.138 wins) and a 3.50 E.R.A.

Now,"as a tribute to being an influence on mexicans,he deserves to be in the hall of fame,"says Arrelano.

No mas,no mas woke garbage please. He doesn't belong, but they'll try like hell--and may even succeed.

DEI comes to the hall? Why not--this isn't America anymore--where real long term talent gets rewarded--but a place where a couple seasons,a "legend" makes.

Why not,indeed--let everyone in.

And don't forget Fidrych and Denny McLain too(except, they're WHITE.)

Fact check:Valenzuela had 141 wins with L.A. and somehow managed 31 extra wins, bouncing around the rest of his career. The E.R.A. is accurate(give or take a smidge.)

THEY SURE DO WRITE THE PABLUM THESE DAYS:
(axios)His death comes just three days before the Dodgers are set to meet the New York Yankees in the World Series for the first time since 1981 — when Valenzuela won a crucial game.

GRA:"Just THREE days?" Must be a connection somehow,to the Series happening and Valenzuela kicking the bucket--but I can't figure it out. A total non-sequitor.
