Yep. Committed fraud for gain. Claimed she was an Eskimo. This Buffy Sainte Marie has done the same for over five decades. Buffy now in disgrace announced her retirement. This woman claiming to be an Eskimo either a gypsy or south Asian. Is there any great difference?
Think Iron Eyes Cody too. Posed as an American Indian too. Iron Eyes and Buffy both Italian.
Judging by the name and looks, they probably really are Indians--from India or Pakistan where the name is most common. The real crime may be that people are awarded money based on race or origin rather than merit.
