“big rapids, mich. (wood) — Ferris state university will welcome Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon Martin’s mother, as a part of its celebration to honor ‘dr.’ Martin Luther King Jr.
[N.S.: big rapids is not to be confused with grand rapids, where GRA has lived his entire life. I was shocked last year to learn that there are two michigan towns named “rapids.” Lot of rapids in that countryside.]
“since Martin was gunned down in 2012, Fulton has become an activist and motivational speaker, using her testimony to call for racial justice and challenge Americans to reject racism.
[GRA: Gunned down?” Hmmm. I thought there was a fight to the death, and Zimmerman defended himself—a jury said so.]
“David Pilgrim, Fsu’s vice president for diversity, inclusion and strategic initiatives, believes Fulton is a great fit for this year’s theme: activism and social justice.
“‘Fulton will give members of the Ferris state community opportunities to reflect on the role of activism in our efforts to build and sustain a more just society,’ Pilgrim said in a statement. ‘she has turned a heartbreaking personal tragedy into the catalyst for a movement that challenges our nation to be better.
“Pilgrim believes the celebration also matches the mission of Ferris state’s founder, Woodbridge Ferris.
“We honor Woodbridge Ferris when we create a campus where everyone, students, faculty and staff believes that the university belongs to them as much as it belongs to others,’ Pilgrim stated. [N.S.: What “others”? White people?] ‘the Martin Luther King Jr. celebration is when we remind ourselves of our noble past and our need to remain vigilant in creating an inclusive university.
“the celebration will be held on jan. 17. Fulton’s presentation will start at 5:30 p.m. at room 111 of the college of business building. Fulton will be interviewed by a Ferris state student and take questions from the audience.
(GRA: Uhh, Ms.Fulton, what’s your secret in raising such a fine son?)

David Pilgrim,DEI director, believes Fulton is a great fit for this year's theme of activism and social justice...(Fulton)has turned a heartbreaking personal tragedy into...a movement that challenges our nation to be better."
GRA:I can see it getting better in one way only .When negroes like Martin are removed from our streets, subtraction is addition. Not enough "subtraction" is going on though, either through arrests or the preferred negro method--with a bullet or two.

David Holstein wrote a brilliant, short article for the Baltimore Sun in 2013(it's under the subscription membership area),but can be read quickly. He said, blacks and liberals will never admit that Trayvon Martin caused his own demise. There's no doubt Martin was committing felony assault and Zimmerman was defending himself...but blacks won't take responsibility or acknowledge such things,it punctures a hole in their ongoing "I'm a victim" theme.

C'mon, you Ferris State students, it's time to tweak the campusmedia complex and show up with some signs, TRAVYON HAD IT A-COMIN' and FEBRAURY 26 IS THE REAL HOLIDAY. You have little to lose (how much is a Ferris State degree worth, anyway?) and everything to gain (publicity, First Amendment lawsuit).
