Interesting. If I’m not mistaken, Barry was the first composer to introduce synthesizers into film scores, which he did for his magnificent score for On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, which is not just the greatest James Bond soundtrack ever composed, but one of the greatest movie scores ever.
Interesting John Barry factoid: he was originally hired for Barbara Streisand’s The Prince of Tides (1991), and accepted the gig, on condition that Streisand not interfere with his music. She interfered, so he quit.
