The city of Portland has finished testing backed up rape kits. This has resulted in 5 indictments for rape so far, including Jihad Eldeen Moore, a black man who raped a woman in 1996: https://pamplinmedia.com/pt/9-news/411168-311317-state-police-finish-testing-backlog-of-5000-rape-kits
This process actually started years ago and early on identified a black serial killer named Homer Lee Jackson. Some local black activists accused the testing of being racist because every rapist identified from the tests has been a black men. I'm actually not 100% certain of that because I caught the story on TV news and can't find a list identifying the rapists in the print media. Let's just say it's safe to say that black men have disproportionately been identified as rapists due to the testing, undoubtedly because they rape so much more than white men, not because of some supposed bias. We'll see what other indictments result from the testing.
Interestingly, the law requiring the city to test backlogged rape kits resulted from "Melissa's law" a law passed as a result of the murder of Melissa Bittler, a 14 year old girl who was raped and murdered by black serial killer Ladon Andre Stephens in 2001. No wonder local racist black activist organizations don't like this testing of old rape kits.
I posted this comment on the Oregonian forum regarding the arrest of Mr. Moore: This one is on the parents, when you name a kid "Jihad" you're just asking for trouble.
I thought it was pretty funny but the censors didn't, they deleted it almost immediately. I also posted it on the Tribune article and it's still there...so far.
I'm pretty sure the Big O censors have my name flagged somehow, my comments get deleted faster than I can put them up.
