Because of this massacre, a Parsi teenager named Farokh Bursara had to flee Zanzibar with his parents. He would later be known as Freddie Mercury (of Queen fame)

The only film from that period is from Mondo Cane? Shows the long lines of "Asians" being led by the blacks to the slaughter. One week 20,000 or so [figures are never clear] "Asians" murdered by the blacks. Indians, Persians, Arabs. Traders that brought civilization tot he Swahili Coast but finally the "Asians" gotten rid of in one fell swoop as they say.

I stand corrected. Africa Addio and not Mondo Cane. When you see those lines of persons being herded to slaughter and the mass graves of hundreds, think Babi Yar from WW2 and similar other atrocities never forgotten. NO ONE however remembers or even knows about Zanzibar.
