Congratulations to Erick Erickson on his new job at Jezebel

Erick Erickson is a Republican functionary who has spent the past several years posing as a conservative at the blog he runs, Red State. Out of revenge for Donald Trump’s refusal to go away, and the GOP’s desire to eliminate him as a presidential candidate, after Trump’s popularity rose, in spite of the attempted hit put on him by GOP/Fox News character assassin Megyn Kelly at the April 6 GOP candidates’ debate, Erickson disinvited Trump to a GOP candidates’ gathering he was producing on April 8. Erickson sought to triangulate towards feminists, at Trump’s expense, but given Erickson’s anti-feminist remarks as recent as 2013, they weren’t buying it. Bristol Palin was also not buying Erickson’s feigned gallantry, considering his prior insult of her mother, Sarah. The younger Palin said that the Republicans and Fox News were “just as bad” as the Democrats, and were playing by the Democrat rule book.
“Oh and before we get off the topic of Fox News and the fact that they are ‘oh-so-shocked’ at the supposed sexism of Donald Trump … here’s a little perspective,” she wrote. “Back in 2010, [Fox News host] Chris Wallace joked about having my Mom sit on his lap during an interview. In 2011, [Fox News President] Roger Ailes said, ‘I hired Sarah Palin because she was hot and got ratings.’ “
“Fox and Erickson need to get off their high horse on how outraged they are NOW about sexism and decency,” Ms. Palin concluded. “Let’s focus on winning the election, not winning accolades from the New York Times.”
Trump responded to Erickson’s snub, by calling him a “total loser.” Erickson’s attempt to play kingmaker only enhanced Trump’s standing with the public, while exposing Erickson as a party apparatchik, or as some of my colleagues would say, a “cuckservative.”
