Which Country More Closely Fits the Definition of a Failed State—Bangladesh, or America?

By Nicholas Stix

The following passage is from an op-ed by Krittivas Mukherjee, which was published only hours ago, in New Delhi’s Hindustan Times, in response to the Moslem Dakha attack: “Dhaka restaurant siege: How long before Bangladesh becomes a failed state?,” updated Jul 02, 2016, 11:25 IST [1:55 a.m.].

“In layman’s terms, a failing or failed state is categorised by what they do not or cannot do. Such states do not control their borders, allowing non-state actors to move in and out without trouble. Parts of such states can be under the control of rebels and warlords. Failed states do not provide basic services to its citizens, and finally they cannot fulfill international obligations.

“None of this is true of today’s Bangladesh. Yet, with every murder, every attack, the country is edging towards levels of intolerance and lawlessness where the line between a vibrant, prosperous country and a failed state gets blurred.”

The ability to control one’s borders is taken for granted in the Third World, and used to be taken for granted in America, but mention it here now, and one is denounced as a Nazi, not only by the racial socialists of the Democrat Party, but by self-styled principled “conservatives,” like speaker of the House Paul Ryan (Donors-WI), of the Republican Party, as well.

“None of this is true of today’s Bangladesh,” but it is certainly true of America.

We effectively have no borders, and no immigration laws. Black and Hispanic “rebels and warlords” controlled much of the country, even before the John Doe calling himself “Barack Hussein Obama” got himself illegally elected. Since then, “Obama” has accelerated the process of nation-destruction, by deliberately importing millions of the world’s most savage cut-throats, whom he calls “refugees.”

“A nation that cannot control its borders is not a nation.” Ronald Reagan

I ask “conservatives” Paul Ryan, George Will, Bill Kristol, Mitt Romney, et al.: Was Ronald Reagan a Nazi?

The John Doe calling himself “Barack Obama” says that maintaining borders is “not who we are.” What he is saying, is that America is not a nation.

the population of Bangladesh is 171,700,000...and growing. Those people are packed into 56,000 square miles of land, an area about the size of Iowa. Large mammals and rainforests are all but extinct in that country, the air and water is heavily polluted. Maybe these people might want to think about using a condom one in a while? The world if finite folks, people can reproduce infinitely, or at least until the land cannot support their numbers. The populations of white 1st world people has stabilized or, in many cases, actually gone down. Asia and African populations are exploding and governments are struggling to support their people, they want to send their people to the West and turn our countries into what they wanted to escape from. Maybe we can't control their numbers but we don't have to enable them by taking their excess population.

Good comments, Jerry.

Within the last month or two, I read an article (on Vdare?) which makes the same points you just made. Third world countries can't sustain the people they already have, and especially not the ones that are on the way. Sending some of them to the West isn't going to help.

jerry,
171 million and increasing at 1.5% per year, that is doubling in 50 years. India and Pakistan are also increasing at a similar rate. The stresses this population growth causes will result in catastrophe. Of course not just Indian sub-continent but Sub Saharan Africa also, big trouble ahead.

Yes,we and Europe are being invaded by people who don't believe in birth control--and will overwhelm our social systems in one generation.Think how quickly the Muslims made the SE corner of Michigan a Muslim stronghold.Welfare will explode--as will our cities when enough Islamists make their way over via the Obama refugee program.Think I'll head for Montana..lol.
