Sure had a good life. Sad to see the man go. Few are ever able to do what he did. Almost if not without peer.
Generally deaths of celebrities do not affect me much. People die every day and it is sad, but they are strangers and if you let that affect you, you will never know happiness. But the death of the great immigration activist Terry Anderson, and Rush do make me sad. Rush was far from perfect. After the disaster of the first term of Bush the First, I was disgusted with Bushes and worked for and voted for Pat Buchanan. But when Bush Jr. ran, Rush told us that he wasn't like the first Bush--this Bush was a REAL conservative. I believed him enough to be a campaign worker for Bush the Second--and once again, was greatly disappointed and voted Constitution Party when Bush ran for a second term. I was furious at Rush for not opposing Bush's weak immigration policy. But overall, Rush did more good than harm and woke up many Americans to the perils of leftism. Too bad he wasn't smart enough or strong enough to never smoke cigarettes and then not take up cigar smoking. His grandfather lived to be over 100--working the whole time. With better care of himself, maybe he could have educated voters for another 30 years. Now he belongs to history.
