Exposure of Juror’s Lies During Voir Dire Results in Second Circuit Tossing Conviction

I am fairly confident that the lying juror wasn’t black. Black juror candidates habitually lie during voir dire, but to my knowledge, there are never any negative consequences, except to the interests of justice.

The Second Circuit has vacated the conviction of former Deutsche Bank Alex.Brown banker David Parse, overturning the lower court, which had vacated his co-defendants' convictions but said Parse's legal team should have brought to light their suspicions about the true identity of a juror who lied during voir dire.
